Online Chess has changed the world chess field in the Covid 19 period. While many sports fields are collapsed under the strict health guidelines to prevent spreading Covid 19, online chess opened the door for many creative ideas. Even in the future, we will have more online events. Not only to face the Covid 19 but there are several plus points in online chess. Hybrid is a nice concept derived from online chess and FIDE has given recognition too.
Venue of Jaffna players
1st hybrid event in Sri Lanka was organized by FMTJ Chess Club and Jaffna District Chess Association. It was conducted with the participation of 22 players in 2 venues; FMTJ Club House, Negombo Road, Kadana for Gampaha District players, and Sarukaya Construction (PVT) Ltd. No. 9, Nanthavil lane, Thavady for Jaffna District players on 25th April 2021.

It was a Lichess Arena event of10+10 Rapid time control for 150 minutes duration. The winners' list of this remarkable event is given below.
