'Don't be lazy. Keep practicing daily as it helps to keep your form up and this will help in the long run' - Kevin Ranidu Silva
How was the experience?
Well talking about my experience it was fantastic as I got to play against much higher rated players like GM and IMs. The quality of the games was really good as I was at the top of my game due to the exposure of the higher rated players.
Are you happy with the rating improvement? Do you like to play again Delhi Open?
I was really happy with my rating improvement as it went from 1854 to 1964 and I would really like to participate again in the Delhi tournament as it helped me to improve my chess and the experience I got playing from there was unimaginable.
How is your improvement? We can see there is a gap between you and the same age local players.
I improved quite a lot if I compare myself before and after the Delhi Tournament. Now I have passed the 2000 rating mark, I am currently ranked first in the U-16 rating category.
Any specific books you refer ...
I really don't have any specific books that I refer. So I just practice with the stuff I have.
Any specific top players you follow ...
I don't have any specific top players that I follow but I follow the games of the top tournaments that are happening around the world that help improve my chess.
How is your schoolwork?
My academics are good as I have always placed top 5 in the class so I balance my academics and chess really well.
Any advice for young players especially when they are setting the goals ...
I really don't have any advice as I don't know what to say but if I must say, 'don't be lazy and keep practicing daily as it helps to keep your form up and this will help in the long run'.
Here is one of his games, which was played in the Delhi tournament.
