"After Delhi Open I played some good games in local tournaments. And I think that's the power of experience you get in tough tournaments such as Delhi Open." - Theekshana Denuwan
Listen to Theekshana Denuwan - one of the young strong chess players of Sri Lanka who is a regular participant of the local rated tournaments.
Delhi Open GM event was very tough and more interesting because there were so many GMs and higher-rated players. Actually I didn't play any game with GMs before this tournament. I was played a game with a GM in the 2nd Round of Delhi Open blitz tournament. I lost that game but it is a really good experience in my life. And also the Delhi Open classic tournament also very interesting. I lost so many games and lost my rating but I got really good experience. That's why I told you this is a very tough tournament.
After Delhi Open I played some good games in local tournaments. And I think that's the power of experience you get in tough tournaments such as Delhi Open.
Actually it was a really good experience for me and I would like to play the Delhi Open again.
In this tournament, you can buy very interesting books for a very cheap price and also you can participate in free conferences by GMs. I think you can get these advantages as side benefits of participating in the Delhi Open.
Especially I thank Gampaha District Chess Association and Global Chess Kids and other helpers who were behind this worthy activity.
After Delhi Open Theekshana played Sri Lanka National B Chess Championship 2020, this is a game from the event.
